CEH Sponsored Events

The CEH Logo indicates an occurrence of a course or event that has been approved for continuing education hours.

An organization may submit their course or event for approval as a one-time CEH-Sponsored event. Approved events display the TECUnit CEH logo.

The required application and fee are submitted by the sponsor. Participants in the Certification Maintenance Program do not need to request approval from the TECUnit prior to the event.

At the Conclusion of the Event

Each CMP participant should be sure to obtain, complete, and return a Participant Form to the sponsor for every CEH Sponsored Event.

Following the CEH event, the presenters are required to supply each requesting TSC holder a Participant Form. Participants complete the identifying information including their CLT Identification number (CLTID). The forms are returned by the participant to the presenter who returns all of the forms to the TECUnit. Participants are not required to send anything to the TECUnit immediately following a Sponsored Event. This is a shift (since 2019) in procedure and serves to streamline processes and minimize the administrative burden on transliterators.

Sponsors are required by the TECUnit to provide a certificate of completion/attendance to each attendee. It is essential that you obtain and keep each certificate for your CEH activities. While you are not typically required to send certificates to the TECUnit, one may be necessary if there is ever a discrepancy in the tracking of your CEHs. While we make an effort to minimize the paperwork for CLTs, ultimately, the burden of proof is theirs.

Successful Completion

Each Sponsored Event is approved for a certain number of continuing education hours. This amount is determined by the instructional content and activities of the course. The number of approved CEHs reflects the maximum number that may be earned. It falls upon the presenter(s)/instructor(s) to identify what determines successful completion. Sponsoring organizations may award fewer or no hours to attendees who do not meet these criteria (e.g., due to partial attendance or failure to complete tasks satisfactorily). The determination of an individual’s CEHs earned is left to the discretion of the event presenter/instructor.

The TECUnit does require sponsors to clearly indicate requirements to earn CEHs and to notify a participant when only partial CEHs are granted.

Ensuring Quality

Every Participant Form provides a link to an anonymous online feedback form.

While the TECUnit cannot verify all of the content in a course, every effort is made to ensure that the course topics are relevant, the learning objectives are appropriate, and that instructors are sufficiently qualified.

Participant feedback is welcomed to ensure ongoing satisfaction with sponsored training. You may always reach out to us to provide relevant feedback on a CEH Sponsored Event. At the bottom of each participant form is a QR code that links to a quick survey. That survey allows you to provide anonymous feedback that goes directly to the TECUnit and may factor into future decisions about CEH approval. This form can also be found directly from this website: Maintenance > Provide CEH Event Feedback.
